Saints Peter and Paul Computer Program

Saints Peter and Paul school strives to provide a 21st Century Learning environment. There is school-wide high speed Internet at 10mbps that is filtered for inappropriate content (via WebSense).

There are 2 full computer labs. One has 32 Dell PC-Compatible computers and the other consists of 15 MacBooks and 15 iMacs. Having both PCs and Macintosh’s insures that students will be able to use various computer systems/operating systems.

Computer class for most grades is held twice a week and teachers are encouraged to use the computer labs for core subjects.

Touch Typing is a part of the curriculum for 2nd through 8th grades and keyboard covers are used to insure students will memorize the keyboard.

Students have their own login for all campus computers and their files are stored on a central server.

Students are taught to use both Microsoft Office and Apple iWork for their word processing, spreadsheet and presentation needs. We currently use Microsoft Office 2010 and iWork 2007.

New for this year, Students in Grades K through 2nd will be using an online standards-based educational website called Study Island. This will be used to supplement instruction in the classroom and can be accesses via an Internet connection from home.
