Content Description:
Language Arts –
Welcome to the world of Jr. High Language Arts, where reading and composition enrich our lives. Daily writing hones the students’ ability to express ideas coherently, persuasively, and fluidly. Literary techniques and comprehension strategies are explored through study of American, English, and World literature. Acquisition of new vocabulary is emphasized in all pursuits. Care is taken to understand the classical roots of our language.
Religion –
8th Graders study the Church doctrine and social teachings in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Self initiated and school sponsored community service is a focal point as students recognize their role as active members of the Catholic faith.

Day of service at the Community Food Bank Farm in Marana, AZ
Day of service for the Ben’s Bells Project in Tucson, AZ

8th Grade ‘Evening of the Arts Under the Stars’ Gala
Field Trips:
The culmination of the 8th grade year comes in May during the 4 day/3 night field trip to the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) in California. This event is a terrific hands-on marine biology extravaganza!!
